Advances in technology are paving the future of improved diabetes management. This lecture will review available research on the use of diabetes technologies such as continuous glucose monitors and insulin pumps in the older adult population, and highlight barriers and special considerations for use in this population.

Case studies of patient use with visual, functional, and cognitive impairments will showcase these special considerations, suggest appropriate accommodations, and provide practical applications for RDNs.
