Given the disparate impact of COVID-19 on historically marginalized communities, in addition to the amplified voices of a growingly diverse population, more healthcare professionals are embracing the need for cultural sensitivity. While there is an expansion of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training that showcases the importance of sensitivity in practice, there is still a thirst for practical guidance that can be applied across different facets of nutrition. This session aims to move beyond increased knowledge and awareness by demonstrating practical ways to prioritize health equity in the language we use, the policies we implement, and the practices we adopt as nutrition professionals.
