Building the Next Generation of Latinx RDNs

Building the Next Generation of Latinx RDNs

Building the Next Generation of Latinx RDNs

Your Price $10.00 - $54.00

Latinx people comprise 18% of the United States population. However, the number of RDNs who are Latinx is only 6%. Reports from dietetic program directors at Hispanic-serving institutions reveal that, despite increasing numbers of these students enrolling in dietetics, many face significant obstacles that preclude them from achieving their dream of becoming an RDN. ACEND data confirms that 50% of students enrolled in undergraduate dietetics programs do not enter internships or other programs to become a credentialed practitioner.

This panel presentation provides an opportunity to learn from Latinx RDN leaders who have successfully completed their training, despite challenges. It will also include best-practice strategies from a Hispanic-serving institution that has invested time and effort to increase the number of Latinx students both entering dietetics training and graduating to practice.
