Women and children have some unique health needs, and these receive special attention in the world of nutrition and health. Men, however, also have their own concerns, and these seldom receive coverage in the media. Men can be reluctant to seek medical attention, get appropriate screenings, and are more likely than women to die from major health problems like heart disease, cancer, and other diet- and lifestyle-related chronic health diseases.
This webinar will cover men's diet- and nutrition-related health risks, reasons why they may manifest, and what steps RDNs can take to better understand help their male patients and clients and their resistance to seeking help with diet and lifestyle health issues. Tailoring our messages to men's needs, concerns, and resistance can increase their engagement in their health care and improve chances for better health outcomes.
