Nutrition and Dietetics is expanding its scope of practice. This webinar will be a panel discussion with RD's with diverse and non-traditional careers paths such as social media influencers, TV show host, non-profit organizations, medical liaison and nutrition scientists. These professionals will share their experiences making the decision of moving to different paths and how this experience shaped their practice. LAHIDAN members (specially students and newer dietitians) would really benefit from this information.

The webinar will last 1.5 hours, and each speaker will have a 20-minutes presentation. Participants will be responding the following questions among others: The following questions will be addressed: How did you decided to go other career path within the profession? Which steps you needed to do go get there? What did you get from moving to this new career path?

Dr. Andie Lee Gonzalez is a Registered Dietitian with a focus on pediatric, community nutrition and leadership. Dr. Gonzalez earned a Bachelor's degree in dietetics and internship training from Michigan State University. She has a Master's degree in public health from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, with a concentration in nutrition and migrant farmworker health. She then completed her Doctorate from Our Lady of the Lake University and most recently completed a certificate in Business Analytics from Michigan State University. Dr. Gonzalez' clinical research has included childhood obesity, maternal health, leadership, and health amongst Hispanic and Latino population in the US. She has presented her research at national professional organization conferences, and local practice group meetings.

Isabel is currently employed as a community dietitian at Moveable Feast. Moveable Feast is a non-profit in Baltimore City, MD, that serves community members living in the intersectionality of food insecurity and chronic illness. Graduated with a Master's degree in Nutrition and Physical Performance from Saint Louis University, in Saint Louis, Missouri. She completed a double Bachelor's degree from Florida International University in Miami, Florida, in Dietetics & Nutrition, and Physical Education.

Malena is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Earned a Master of Science in Nutrition Education at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. She is an Academy Certified Diabetes Educator, Nutrition Consultant and Media Spokesperson. She has served as an Affiliate Professor of Nutrition and Past LAHIDAN Chair. Malena is a past recipient of the LAHIDAN Distinguished Trinko Service Award.

Marisa completed her Master's in Public Health from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She is a Research Dietitian, book chapters author and co-author. Currently, she is a Manager of Renal Allied Health at Texas Children's Hospital, Houston and also a Dietitian Consultant at AVANCE - Houston.
