Dr. Robert Kushner has a long, distinguished career as one of the most highly respected weight management experts in the world. He is Medical Director of the Center for Lifestyle Medicine at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, Professor of Medicine and Medical Education, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Past President of The Obesity Society and a founder of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) that certifies physicians in the care of patients with obesity.

Board-certified in internal medicine and nutrition, Dr. Kushner is a passionate clinician, educator, researcher and advocate in helping to improve the lives of those affected by overweight and obesity. A noted national and international speaker, Dr. Kushner teaches health care professionals about both the science and art of helping individuals lose weight, keep it off and embrace the healthier habits that fit their lives.

Jaime Almandoz, MD, MBA, MRCPI, FTOS

Speaker

Jaime Almandoz, MD, MBA, MRCPI, FTOS is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Medical Director of the Weight Wellness Obesity Medicine Program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He is board-certified in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine and a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM). 

Dr. Almandoz earned his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, completed his Internal Medicine residency and Endocrinology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, and pursued a fellowship in Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases at UT Southwestern. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the ABOM and as Vice Chair of the Nutrition and Obesity Disease State Network for the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology. His clinical and research interests include interdisciplinary weight management programs, post-bariatric weight recurrence, and disparities in obesity care.
